Browns coach Kevin Stefanski will reassume play-calling duties following a 3-14 season and despite making a change at offensive coordinator.

BEREA, Ohio — Kevin Stefanski eliminated the distraction of playcalling questions all offseason by announcing during new offensive coordinator Tommy Rees’ introductory press conference on Thursday that he’ll handle the chore himself again with the caveat that “I reserve right to change my mind.”

After handing over play-calling duties to former offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey, head coach Kevin Stefanski is set to reclaim those duties in 2025.

The announcement was made at the introductory press conference for newly hired offensive coordinator Tommy Rees.

The Browns introduced new offensive coordinator Tommy Rees on Thursday, about a week after promoting him from tight ends coach. Kevin Stefanski said before the press conference started that he would take back over as the play-caller.

Tommy Rees went from being a ball boy for the Cleveland Browns to running their offense. Cleveland coach Kevin Stefanski hired Rees as his offensive coordinator, promoting him after firing Ken Dorsey following a season in which the Browns went 3-14 and averaged a league-low 15.

New OC Tommy Rees is viewed as a rising star, but has a long road a head to help get Cleveland's offense back on track.

According to reports, the Browns have also interviewed current tight ends coach Tommy Rees and Miami Dolphins assistant Darrell Bevell for their offensive coordinator job. The team also met with Seahawks assistant Charles London about the job on Friday. The Browns likewise interviewed Atlanta Falcons tight-ends coach Kevin Koger for the position.
