CME Group to launch XRP and SOL futures contracts on Feb. 10
The Chicago Mercantile Exchange’s (CME) website hinted at the introduction of SOL (SOL) and XRP (XRP) futures contracts that could debut as early as Feb. 10, pending regulatory review. CHICAGO (AP) _ Grain futures were mixed Thursday on the Chicago Board of Trade. Mar. corn was up 0.25 cent at $4.89 a bushel. Mar. wheat was off 0.25 cent at $5.54 a bushel. Mar. oats was up 6 cents at $3.68 a bushel. Mar. soybeans was down 0.25 cent at $10.64 a bushel. Beef was higher and pork was higher on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.
CME plans to launch XRP Solana futures on February 10, offering standard and micro contracts for enhanced trading flexibility.
Over the same period, Bitcoin was up 0.5% and Ethereum was down 1.5%. The CME currently offers options trading for Bitcoin and Ethereum, and some investors have been hoping that options trading for Solana could help send its token price higher.
In a now deleted "staging subdomain" page CME reported to have said futures contracts for XRP and SOL will go live on Feb. 10.
