Fran McCaffery is usually very good about telling you what’s on his mind after any game. On Tuesday night the Iowa head coach said that if he told us what he was really thinking that he would end up with fine from the Big Ten.

The Iowa Hawkeyes have had one of the best offenses in all of college basketball this season. However, as the Hawkeyes have now dropped three games in a row, head coach Fran McCaffery has seen that vaunted offense seemingly regress.

Minnesota led by 17 points, 63-46, with just over six minutes to play in the second half before Iowa started to eat away at the lead. The lead was still 11 points when there was a lengthy delay for an injured cheerleader with 2:42 to play. From there, the Hawkeyes cut the deficit to three before the Gophers sealed the win at the free-throw line.
