A Las Vegas man was sentenced up to life in prison for the death of a 2-month old baby and events that unfolded after.

A man who was hit by a vehicle this month has died, according to a Metro Police news release. Metro was notified today that the 45-year-old man succumbed to his injuries and died Jan. 16. The incident occurred the evening of Jan. 6 on East Tropicana Avenue east of South Nellis Boulevard.

A person who was hit by a vehicle while walking died Thursday, 10 days after the crash. On Jan. 6 at around 7:30 p.m., officers with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department responded to East Tropicana Avenue east of South Nellis Boulevard after a report of a crash involving a pedestrian.

The longest strike in decades by Las Vegas hotel workers ended Wednesday with a new contract between the union and a casino where hundreds of employees had walked off the job in November.
